“One side of my refrigerator will be against a wall. The other side will have a 24" deep cabinet. How much space does the refrigerator need on the side to open doors correctly o each side? The installation clearance given on the LG site is 1/8".per side.”

While the installation clearance is listed as 1/8" per side, for optimal door operation, you'll want to consider additional space for proper opening. With the doors fully open (without handles), the refrigerator measures 56.75” in width. With the doors at 90° (without handles), the width is 40”. The door edge clearance without handles is 2.25”, which means the doors need at least this much space to swing open properly.
