“Why is there sometimes a funky smell coming from my dryer? I replaced an older set with this one about two months ago and so far I am very pleased. I just have one concern though. Every so often there is a funky or "wet dog" smell coming from the dryer while it is in use or when I first open the door and on the clothes (we don't even own a dog). Not every time and it doesn't seem to matter what type of load it is. All of my loads always come out of the matching washer smelling sweet and clean and unbelievably fresh. But then something happens to them in the dryer... sometimes. FYI I had my dryer vents cleaned about 6 months ago and purchased a new dryer hose (before purchasing this set) and never had this smell problem with my older dryer. The hose is not constricted, crushed or curled in anyway. It has just two turns as shown in the diagram of correct installation. Is it possible that when it was installed the hose was inserted incorrectly into the back of the dryer? Is the hose supposed to go in or go around the collar of the opening on the back of the dryer? I do not want to change it from the way Best Buy installed it without asking first, but thought this could potentially be contributing to the problem (?)”
