“My laundry room has limited space in depth so I was told to hook up the gas dryer with periscope vent hoses instead of the regular vents. I have heard that the periscope style isn't as efficient and clothes take much longer to dry. Is this true?”

• The owner's manual for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG - SteamDryer 7.4 Cu. Ft. 10-Cycle Steam Gas Dryer - White, Model # DLGX3371W recommends that only rigid metal or flexible 4-inch diameter ductwork be used inside the dryer cabinet or for exhausting to the outside. We are not familiar with periscope vents and we cannot recommend any ductwork other than that which is specified in the owner's manual. You may be better served by contacting the American Household Appliance Manufacturers Association (AHAM) or qualified plumber to inquire about their efficiency...^IFV
