“Is the Internal Water Heater used for all cycles or just for the Steam Cycles? Is the Internal Water Heater in the WM2650 used in all wash cycles (such as Cotton/Normal) to heat the water to the appropriate temperatures for Warm and Hot water temperatures or is the water heater only used for the Extra Hot steam functions?”

• The internal heater functions for all but the "Tap Cold". Cold will heat the water (if the hot water mix was insufficient) to 60-degF (which is what detergents define as "cold" water wash).

• The water heater keeps the water at the right temperature but may not be needed for every cycle selection.
