Firmware updates are released on a regular basis for network enabled Blu-ray players. These updates are used to enhance current features, fix bugs and in some cases add additional application. An internet connection is required to perform a firmware update. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can do software updates via an Ethernet cable to your internet router, so the player should be up to date if you take that step. The cable is not included with the player. Our player was up to date already as delivered. We connected it to our router, and the message was that the player already had the latest software. We will probably check again every six months or so to keep up to date.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had no issues playing blu-ray or dvd discs. I am not quite sure what you mean by "how updated" is the player? I don't see why the James Bond Collection would not play, unless there is possibly a "region issue" associated with the discs.
