In theory yes. However, it would be well worth it to think about upgrading to an HDMI receiver. You are missing out on all of the new Audio Formats. There are a lot of options in the mid $200 range which will also get you Bluetooth connectivity so you can more easily stream music or connect other devices directly to your system.
