The LG Blu-ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services, Model # BP175 comes with an included AC/DC Adapter, Model # WA-12M12FU. Anny issues about the unit freezing up when turned on would have been resolved by our Customer Support Center when the issue was reported. Regrettably, we do not have access to service histories and cannot comment on those issues...^IFV

I have played at least a dozen movies and have had no issues with the operation of the unit. It was quick and easy to set up the unit with the hdmi cord. Just be sure you have enough hdmi inputs on your TV for all of your equipment
