Do you have to do updates or is that automatic? null

Hi Tony. Firmware updates for the LG Blu-ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services, Model # BP175, and Blu-ray Players are released on a regular basis for network-enabled Blu-ray Players. These updates are used to enhance current features, fix bugs, and in some cases add additional applications to the device. If you do not have internet available on the Blu-ray Player, you may need to perform a Manual Firmware Update. If there is new software available and the unit is connected to a broadband home network, the player will inform you about the update by displaying the update menu on the screen when you turn the player on. If the software update is available from the update server, the “Update” icon appears in the Home menu and you can press blue (B) colored button on the remote to start the update procedure. Before updating the software in your player, remove any disc and USB Device from the player and turn the player off and then turn it back on. You can check the network connection settings and select the software option in the settings menu and select update then press enter. The player will check for the newest update...^IFV
