“Does it have zero clearance on the hinge side? If not how much extra side space does it need for the door to open 90 degrees? In our case the left side of the microwave will be against a cabinet that comes out further than the microwave.”

No, you will need at least an inch of clearance. Also note that deep cabinets above the unit will block the internal vent, which is why there is a maximum cabinet depth specified.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just installed this microwave. I really like it’s features however the door clearance is not zero clearance. I checked the installation twice and cannot see how to get the door to open all the way. I am still trying to figure out what I can do next to resolve this problem. Hoping there is a door adjustment somewhere that can tweak the way the doors opens. I have LG appliances for everything so I am a huge fan of their products…..just hoping there is hope for this microwave/convection oven combo. As you can see in the photo the door has clearance on the left but it still hits the metal framing on the left side. I’ll post another photo of the door opening and hitting the stainless steel frame shortly.
