- Answer As long as you have DVD video writing software you can record from any type of storage. Be aware if the video has copy write protection you still will not be able to duplicate it, and trying to do so is illegal. If the software included with this drive doesn't work check out AVI studio.

QuestionI have a Microsoft Surface 3 and do not have a CD-ROM drive. Will I be able to use this device to install the printer from a CD-ROM?

- Answer If your Surface has a usb port probably yes. But, If you need a CD to install a printer, you should look at replacing the printer. Any up to date printer would have drivers available for download online, no disc needed.

Questionis it ok to leave the unit plugged into the ac wall outlet even when the unit is not in use and the computer is off? or will the unit go into a sleep mode or hibernation mode ? i don't want to have to plug it in everytime i want to use it

- Answer If your video camera can be attached to your computer like an external drive, and if you have a disc-burning program on your computer, you can select the photo files you want and copy them directly to a blank disc in this unit.

QuestionIsn’t this an M-Disk supported drive? Unless I’m missing it, Best Buy seems to be skipping this important feature in specifications. According to LG’s website and other vendors it is. See photo. Those looking for this feature may skip on this drive.

QuestionDoes this burn DVD's faster than the DVD burner installed in my Toshiba C55 lap top?

- Answer I don't know how fast your Toshiba is but the LG burns up to 16X DVDs, which is the highest rate to safely burn DVDs. Any faster could entail miswrites. 16X is actually quite fast and used to cause problems years ago but not the LG with my 16 gig RAM buffer.

- Answer The interface/connection from the burner to a computer is USB A, the standard usb interface as of this writing on 05/14/18. That is the only way it can connect to a computer.

- Answer It's easy. Plug the LG Super-Multi into the USB port on any Mac. Insert a CD. A CD icon will appear on your desktop. Your Mac may ask you what you want to do next. Otherwise, click on the CD icon on the desktop. Select one or more songs and drag them to your desktop or any folder. itunes will recognize the new music and ask if you want to add it to your library. You do not need to download or add any software to run the LG Super-Multi with a Mac.

- Answer If you have an USB port on that TV, it might work, depending upon what comouterization that TV has. You might contact LG about that.
