• I am not surprised that it won't pair with an iPhone 4 - that's a pretty old model with some antiquated software. My neighbor had the same issue and finally just bought a new phone. Then, it paired fine.

• I have paired it with a 3GS I phone. Restart your I phone hold lock and home button down until you get the silver apple and then it will pair to it.

• Yup.. Go to setting and make sure the beats are on mode
