No it does not hurt your ears.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I retract my original answer. Until today I never actually had it in my ear when the phone rang so I assumed it just vibrated. It does ring as well as vibrate. I don't think the ringing is real loud.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, mine doesn't. The headset vibrates. I don't keep the ear piece in my ear all the time. It retracts so when I'm finished with a call I retract it and when the next call comes in it vibrates and I put it in my ear at that point. That's one of the nice features of having a headset that rests around your neck instead of one that is constantly stuck in your ear.
