I've seen complaints online that the cable is subpar, and that you probably want to buy a VESA-certified 1.4 cable if you have a graphic card that supports it. I'm presently using it with DP 1.2, and it's fine for that, but it could be troublesome at 1.4 speeds. The stock cable is also shortish, I think about 6 feet, so buying a longer 1.4 might be a good idea anyway.

A standard Display Port cable will work for any Display Port configuration including the new capabilities enabled by Display Port 1.2- 4K and multi-stream capabilities. All standard Display Port cables support RBR, HBR (High Bit Rate), and HBR2 (High Bit Rate 2), which can support 4K at 60Hz, or up to four 1080p displays using multi-stream. ^Daphane
