Yes, the monitor can be overclocked for a maximum resolution of 3840 x 1600 @ 175 Hz. LG Electronics is not responsible for the performance of the specified feature or any adverse effect caused by it once activated by users. For that reason, manufacturers do not advertise overclocking. Please be advised that overclocking your monitor may void the monitor’s warranty. ^Daphane

That is correct. With the simple menu enabled overclock it hits 175hz.

It does but if you overclock it to 175hz you go from 10bit color to 8 bit color. Unfortunately the color quality decreases significantly at 175hz.
