By definition, 4K UHD is 3840 pixels x 2160 lines. In the manual, page 21 the max resolution listed is 2160p "Outputs 2160 lines of progressive video". So the 2160 does not refer to the pixels, it refers to the lines of "p"rogressive video.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It has 4 times as many pixels as HD. 2160 lines of resolution is 2x1080, and 3840 pixels is 2x1920. 2x2=4 times the pixels, which is 4 times the resolution of HD(1080x1920)

(Blu-ray HD) is 1920 x 1080P resolution ---> most people simply refer to it as 1080 or 1080P 4K UHD Blu-ray is generally Double that 3840 x 2160P ----> In order to make things seem BIGGER AND BETTER in selling NEW TVs the manufacturers decided to use the 3840 (~4K) in the naming structure in order to hype things up. When people are talking about 4K they are generally talking about 2160P so they are basically interchangeable. ~4K by 2160P resolution. Not to side track things but there are some monitors resolutions that are a bit higher than 3840 pixels but for generality sake say 4K is close enough to mean 3840 and the various slightly higher resolutions.
