A single cable is fine. The second is optional to go to a dedicated sound system
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes... I run one HDMI cable from bluray player to my reciever. I get 4k and Atmos with no problems. Waiting on Dolby Vision support which was removed on latest firmware but is supposed to be coming back. Also note that if your running an LG OLED TV and you have player running through a reciever.... You cannot disable CEC on player which causes it to power on when trying to switch activities or input on reciever and immediately overtakes the input back to bluray. Quite frustrating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not have to use both, it is to give you options in case you are finding pass through on your TV is not supporting the audio.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your receiver doesn't have 4k pass thru you could hook both HDMI up. Audio to the receiver and the other straight to your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You only need the one HDMI cable for direct connection to the TV or to a Receiver that is connected to the TV. Some TV's do not have audio and support only picture and you need another device like a sound bar or external speaker system. So for those cases, they give you away to run one to the TV and one to a sound system (other than a Receiver).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
