“I am trying to find out what is in the box. Is this a true starter kit? Is it just the light strips or does it come with the power adapter and controller? I don't see that in the specs.”

The package contains three light strips and a power adapter. One of the strips plugs directly into the power adapter and the other two can extend the original one to create one long one (the two wouldnt be able to be powered unless you purchased additional power adapters). You use the app in order to control the lighting. In my home we use Apple products so we integrated the lights into the Apple Home app (free) and even the single Alexa device that we have in our kitchen.
