They don't get hot. Even after hours of steady use they only get a little warm to the touch.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The base gets pretty hot after extended use. Manufacturer recommends not using enclosed housings for your light. Home kit only turns them off if you’ve programmed them to. Otherwise, they’re pretty safe. I own 10 of them. Ordering my next set.
