Can u set this at just white or just one color at a time? Is any other device needed like a hub..I hope not! Have a se cpnd generation echo dot. null

No hub is needed, just screw in and you’re all set. And you can use whatever color you like on each bulb. If you had two bulbs for example in the same room. You could customize each bulb to your hearts content. One orange at full brightness and the other green at its dimmest setting.

You can pick from the different shades of white to suite your preference. Cool whites all the way to warm whites, plus different % brightness. You have to pair using the Lifx app, and can do some basic scheduling from the app. Once set up on your WiFi network (no hub required), you can pair with Alexa via your Dot.

Bulbs are one color at a time. Panels are multi color or one color. Automation from app does all sorts of things. Lifx requires no hub and connects to all sorts of home auto hubs. I use Apple HomeKit

yes, each individual light can be set to a color of your choice. after naming the bulb on the lifx app, and syncing the lifx app with your alexa, simply make the command to set the "named" bulb to a certain color.

No hub required and yes just white or just one color at a time. Not just white but warm white or a cool/daylight white. Get two or more and you can have them all match in color or independently. Echo dot will work with these too. Hey Alexa, turn on my light. Hey Alexa, turn light to 50%. etc.

yea it can be one color at a time, and has a few variations of white (warm, daylight, cool etc). This does not need a hub but you will need to control with your phone or use your phone to set up with the echo.

You can set it at one color and you can buy the cheaper version that only sets at variations of white. The great thing about these bulbs are that you do not need a hub. It should work with your Echo. I'm not sure what generation we have, but it works great.

Not sure what you mean when you say white or just one color at a time, but you can choose any color, there is a swipe wheel on the app and it's really easy to use (the app), best part is that there is no hub required, it all works on an easy to use app on your smartphone. Your echo dot will work the LIFX bulbs just fine.

Of course you can use it as just white. You can also use one as white and the others can be any other color. Or you can adjust the whole set to the same color easily. It gives you the option to adjust each light's brightness too! No other device or hub is needed. Just the lights....each one has built-in wifi capability! 

I am not sure about the Echo Dot...I don't use one of those.

They can be static at one setting, or you can have them cycle through multiple colors. You can pretty much set whatever color you want, and it will stay that color until you change it (Voice commands). You can also choose the brightness (for example: set lights to 83%). 
All smart bulbs that use WiFi require a hub ONLY if you want to control your lights away from home. The key to smart devices over WiFi is that everything functions on the same WiFi network. A hub is basically a receiver when you’re not on the same network, kind of like an antenna. As far as I know, smart speakers serve as hubs. My Google Home mini worked just fine, but since I use iOS devices like iPhone, I just leave my old iPad at home since it has a built in hub feature (requires activation in settings).
