• No, this light strip is not waterproof and can't be installed outside. This light strip can only be installed indoors. The lifx website even goes as far as stating that this light strip should not be installed in a bathroom or a room that is close to a bathroom where there are high levels of humidity.

• I wouldn't recommend it, it has to be plugged in and the adapter plus connection does not look waterproof, the 4 tiny pin connectors that attach each other god forbid water gets in them would probably damage. If on the patio, green house, shed or den or concealed under a bench, or least places of where it would get wet and the outlet was covered taken every precaution I'm sure you would be ok. good luck and enjoy I love mine and will be buying more. hope this helps
