“Are you able to cut this in half and use 2 - 5' pieces? I'm installing LED back lit 5' shelves & aprox. 6' under cabinets, I have ATTACHED a pre-existing professionally wired diagram and could use some help how I could hard wire LIFX LED to this?”

Although you can cut this light strip at specific areas in order to customize the length, they would not work the way that you need because only the length of the strip that is attached to the power supply (and therefore the wifi controller) would work. I'm sure that you could find some way to splice the other end to a different power supply but then you wouldn't be able to control that part of the light strip with the app and I assume that it would only function as a white LED light strip (which would make it an incredibly expensive option because you can get a plain old, white LED light strip just about anywhere for a fraction of the price.) so, the short answer is, no this is not the right product for your project.

Please try again later.You can in fact cut the strips down so they aren't as long but I don't believe you can re use what you cut off unless your handy with a soldering iron. The strip is also bendable up to a 90 degree angle. The strip also comes in 3 reattachable pieces. with an adhesive backing. I hope this helps.

You would have to connect 2 strips and cut the end with the male pins to length. You will not be able to use the scrap for anything.
