“My Netflix has stopping and lag issues, which people have said is due to low signal strength...Would this help with the lag problem..? My router is on the same floor as the TV, but in an older house with plaster & lath walls. It. Is a Netgear08 router.”

It will only work better this way with the range extender if the range extender itself is getting a good signal from your main router. When you first hook it up the software will tell you if you are within a good range from the router. If that is good and it's in the green bars, then you should be okay
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That's the exact problem I had and the extender did the trick. Placed half way between the router and my TV and that boosted the signal. No more buffering in the middle of shows.
