As long as you have an ethernet connection in your house that can reach it, yes. My setup uses in-wall ethernet lines throughout my house, connected at a central point in my basement where my modem is. One of the ethernet lines is used to connect the router that I currently have upstairs to the modem downstairs.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine are in the same room because there if a small telephone cord that connects from the router to the modem. I'm not sure if there is another way to set it up without that cord but I don't think so.
