“I have a 1200 s.f single story home with a basement. If I have the router set up on the first floor will if work for any office in the basement of my home or would I need additional equipment for that to work?”

Mine has a lot of range so it should broadcast to your basement. If you have a limited single just add a mesh network, that’s why I bought this particular model.
