Hi, BikerJeff. Setting up the Linksys Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 5 Router, MR8300 is made easy using the Linksys app and it's a requirement. However, if you'd like to manage the settings of the router, you can access the web interface as shown in this link, https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=316709.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is no way to setup this without having to install the Linksys app AND also create an account with the Linksys cloud service. There is a web interface in the router but you are effectively blocked from accessing it until AFTER you complete the initial setup through the app. There is no way around it. It's idiotic that Linksys is forcing people to link their routers with a cloud service in order to be able to use it.
