Centrally located using an ethernet cable is perfectly acceptable. Best location for most effective coverage for your situation is what I would recommend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a router. Where your Verizon/Frontier Internet Modem is connected to a coax cable, this device connects from the modem via an Ethernet cable (included in the box). This router than provides access for additional wired and wireless devices to connect to your network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't matter where it's located as long as you can get an Ethernet cable to the router from the Verizon/Fronteir box. Depending how your house is wired, this could be on the other side of the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are correct that the Router will be connected to the modem via an Ethernet cable. With that in mind, the router can be as far away from the modem as you desire as long as you have a high quality Ethernet cable connecting them. The only reason to have them together is that there are times when you may need to reset the Modem and router and it is easier to do this when they are in the same location. But if you really need the wireless router in a different location, you can do so as long as the Ethernet cable connects to both the modem and the router and the router is in a location with power available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, Captain. The router should be hardwired directly to your modem using an Ethernet cable.
