• i read a lot of speed test comparisons. Both very comparable speed wise, i believe ea9500 performs better at further distances, 8 ethernet ports on the back though. I chose EA9500 based on how i like the way their settings page is setup.

• Had trouble with my x4 on spectrum I was always a netgear person so I tried the x8 returned it for the ea 9500 x8 did not do as good as the ea9500 in my case x8 still had buffering and random speeds issues.
