• I have use this router for over a year and have had zero issues with it. It sits in my office on the main floor and I receive connectivity throughout the house and into our basement. I believe it would do perfectly fine with three walls.

• Yes, the signal strength is pretty good. However, see other reviews on this router before you buy. Devices hooked to USB ports don't show up on network, and the router tends to disconnect itself from the modem periodically. Doesn't happen on all the EA9500's, but it has happened on both of mine . . . so I am about to replace it again.
