“Is the ethernet port just to connect a device to it or can you run a cable from your router to the extender and then use the extender to broadcast the wifi signal?”

• Hi, MTMomentumG21, The Ethernet port of the Linksys RE6300 can be used either way. The port can be used to connect wired clients such as computers or connect the device to a router when it is in Access Point mode.

• This is an extender. You do not run a cable from router to this. This is a signal booster. If you have something that isn’t Wi-Fi , plug this in, connect to your Wi-Fi, Ethernet it to your device put it on your network.
