• Hi DrSuess. Yes, the range extender uses the same SSID as the router, however, it has the extension name “Ext” for you to be able to easily distinguish it.

• Yes it does. It will create a second wifi with your current wifi name and password just with ext on end of original wifi name. Its a little strange but yes it doesn't change any information. You do have access to change wifi settings for the ext.
