• Yes. It connects to any existing WiFi on 2.4ghz band, then broadcast it's own WiFi single. FYI, extenders are not the same as mesh network (Google WiFi, Deco, Velop, etc.)

• Yes you can. I am currently using this with a Linksys router. It automatically setup a unique SSID.
