Yes, I use mine at hotels where I don't have access to the router either. You don'the need physical access, just connect to the Extender via wireless network (enter code for Extender to verify it's yours), then just connect to the router using your internet browser and it walks you right through the setup. Couldn't be easier. Hope this helps.
