Hi. No, you just need to configure the range extender to the Wi-Fi signal of the main router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a wireless device, connecting to a ‘WPS’ enabled router. There is no Ethernet wiring required. It is ‘paired’ with your WiFi router upon initial setup (from a few feet away), and you then move the extender further put away from your router towards your ‘dead’ coverage area. NOTE: I found this unit easy to set up but the WiFi extender capabilities were severely limited and did not work well for my needs. I returned it and got a unit in the 1900 range/class instead.
