• Hi, Tony. You will still need to set up the extender to your main router. You can perform the setup using your iPad.

• It automatically paired up to my current router by pressing the wps button. I plugged it in my daughter's bedroom. She was able to pick it up on wifi and connect to it. Before, she was getting only 1 bar from the router. With the extender, she has 4 bars of reception.

• It is not plug n play like USB devices. There is no cd. After powering up the RE6300 you use your setting wifi and connect to the RE6300via network id: Linksys Extender Setup-XXX Go to Safari and use address http://externder.linksys.com This will get you to an easy setup menu setting connections and passwords. Very easy

• No CD and is pretty much plug n play. When u go to first connect it, u have to be close to your existing router.
