Hi, Jeff. The Linksys RE6300 is a plug-in range extender that can easily increase the range of a wireless home network, eliminate dead zones, and provide Wi-Fi range extension with two non-detachable external antennas. Just make sure to place the unit where it gets optimal signal from the main network and it should work fine. Click here to learn more: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article/?articleNum=140760.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You first plug this in near the wifi source and connect it by literally just pushing wps button on both this device and on your modem/router after the light on bottom turns from blinking green to an auburn color. Once it turns solid green its fully connected. ( you go to your phone it will show up as current wifi name just with ext. After it will use same password etc. ) you move to a middle spot or place where your wifi bars on the ext wifi name has most bars it basically tells you best place. I did have some trouble replacing mine in once I had already connected etc I just used something small hit the reset button and it remembered everything but when I plugged in it worked perfectly. So ultimately you will have your regular wifi you add things to and this will have a wifi ext you add things to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It seems to me that you need to be closer to the main unit. The instructions say something along the lines of being halfway between where you want the signal and your main unit.
