“My Linksys RE 6300 range extender feels warm all the time -- is this normal? I've noticed the signal seems to come and go at times too.. Also wondering if this weakens the wifi signal from the router.”

The company ignores the original question - WHY is this piece of electronics HOT to the touch? Also, WHY if it gets real hot (when I put it out in my hot garage) does it lose it's settings and need to be set up again?

Make sure that it is getting a good signal from the router since our Range Extenders are dependent on it. The extender rebroadcasts the signal from the router, so it needs to be positioned where it can get a strong enough signal from the router. Log into the extender at extender.linksys.com and use the Spot Finder utility to make sure it’s placed in an optimal position.
