• No, mike. The Linksys LGS108 8-Port Business Desktop Gigabit Switch only extends your wired connection, not the Wi-Fi.

• I see no reason why you can't. As long as it is directly connected via a CAT cable. But if you want GB speed make sure it is CAT 6 cable.
