• While companies used to do this you don't see it as much any longer. I don't recommend the combination as upgrades are harder and overall security and reliability go WAY down with it doing that level of network integration. Lastly the integrated router is usually behind on wireless spec and/or features.

• better to have the devices be separate ... the modem doesn't need to be changed as often as a router would due to changing standards so i wouldn't do too many eggs in one basket
