Q: QuestionD o you sell a Linksys cable modem-router combination
Asked by vernon.
- A:Answer While companies used to do this you don't see it as much any longer. I don't recommend the combination as upgrades are harder and overall security and reliability go WAY down with it doing that level of network integration. Lastly the integrated router is usually behind on wireless spec and/or features.

Asked by Tiletrial.
- A:Answer No, Tiletrial. The CM3024 is just a plain modem. You will need to get a router in order to have a WiFi network.

Q: QuestionCan a phone liNE connect to this? I have to use my magic jack.
Asked by Sonia.
- A:Answer I would say YES a Magic Jack can be connected, but NOT directly to the modem. I have two Magic Jacks, therefore two different phone numbers. One MJ is connected to one of the Windows 7 computers (via USB port) on the wired network. The other MJ is connected directly into a Linksys 8 port switch then is connected wired over some distance to the Linksys router. Both MJ work well with this configuration. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI upgraded through Windstream for faster speed with new modem and now cannot go back to the former modem I used because wires were bonded. Will this work in place of what I have as Windstreams former model won't even work? I'm trying to avoid extra fees.
Asked by Linda.
- A:Answer If you mean the coax that connects to your modem, you can re-terminate the ends yourself with a tool kit from any hardware store. Same thing with a LAN wire end.
