No. The network adapter is part of the PC. The router communicates with the network adapter.

The desktop is located in the same spot that my laptop that had Windows 7 was, and it worked fine with Windows 7. I have the Netgear provided by AT & T, it is dual band. Not sure if maybe a Wifi extender would be better suited.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 3 Windows 10 pc's, 1 Win 7 pc, TiVo boxes and android phones all connected to it without issues. If your distance is large or there is some sort of material interference then you might want to relocate the router or add a network extender.
