• Linksys says they are backward compatible. I had 5 nodes with the Tri band. Only running these x2 mx5 WIFI 6. Both downstairs and great great coverage upstairs, in garage, and back yard. In fact longer range of WIFI coverage. For questions best to call Linksys. 3yr warranty and 24/7 tech support.

• The unit even works with different brands, I don’t see why it should not work with its own older version.

• Yes it does.just add them as baby nodes and leave the wifi 6 as main.
