The N600 is a router not a modem. A router works in tandem with a modem. Depending on your ISP you will either have a modem fed by a telephone line (DSL/VDSL service) or a coaxial cable (cable modem service).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Blond, this model is designed to work with an Ethernet handoff from a separate modem. The modem takes the fiber or coax or landline that your ISP delivers to your house and converts it to Ethernet for connection to a PC (or this router). Other models have the modem built into them and can be directly plugged into the matching media that is provided by the ISP. Some ISP require you to connect to them with a modem they provide and this router fits the bill for that situation very well; other ISP allow you to directly connect your equipment to their lines. Check with your ISP before buying an integrated modem/router. I hope this helps. - tNate
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I suspect that your old router is actually a modem. You should contact your content provider and request newer equipment that will interface with the router. Chances are that you are paying a monthly fee to your provider for the modem and they should give you something that is not obsolete.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has 4 landline ports in the back of the router that you connect to your computer/ devices and one internet port that you connect to your modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you use a cable modem, you may have a land line port that you can connect into.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your land line would be your ethernet connection coming off of your house router. -The internet plug is where your WAN connection plugs into to make a LAN connection. You are essentially extending your LAN/WAN connectivity to a hub/wireless switch. -It also provides you with 3 additional LAN connections.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Perhaps the older unit you had was a cable/phone modem with wireless built in? This the fourth wireless router with which I have worked and have never seen a 'land line port'. Set up is typically DSL/Cable/etc. wall jack to pc, pc to wireless, then wireless back to pc, with wireless connections using ethernet cables.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What exactly are you asking? Your question is pretty confusing. Why are you loading data onto your router? And why are you looking for a phone jack? This is a router so if you are trying to create wireless internet, you need to use this with a modem (which would have a phone jack on it). You then run an ethernet cable from the modem to your router (the n600 router). Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It sounds like you had an older modem/router. That land line connection was probably for a DSL modem. DSL runs through traditional phone lines. If you have a new modem, you don't need to worry about it. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't understand your question. The router DOES have an ethernet jack (land line port), and so should your PC (most likely). You have to configure it before you can connect anything by wireless, and to do this, you have to be wired in to the router. I hope this helps!
