Probably not unless it is the same model and software version. Backups are generally only good for restoring to the original device. Trying to install on a different one may cause strange behavior or failure. If it loads at all.

However if the router model numbers and/or the firmware is different then it is hard to tell. Even routers of the same model number (especially consumer Linksys and Netgear) are not always the same firmware or registers. A potentially good indicator is looking at the WW-DRT database (https://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database) and you may see different versions of your router model and you will notice than in some cases a different version of WW-DRT is used-- in fact some versions of the same model CANNOT run WW-DRT.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've never run into that before. Good question. I would think it would. Typically I take screen shots of the important windows before I swap out a router for a new one. Easier then writing down all the info in case the backup fails.
