• No. It's not needed but, depending on your computer's operating system settings, you may need to download the driver.

• You need to download the driver from the internet (through an ethernet connection to your ISP) or download it on a flash drive from another computer and install it on the desktop you are using this WiFi driver for. Hope this helps.
