• Metal is kryptonite to WIFI. put the extender in a window with line of site .... put a window in if necessary! or run a hard line out to the building then it will work great!

• That is going to be a little far to travel, can you pick up the wifi at all in the building like on your phone or anything? If it is a weak signal that is probably your answer. It has to have a signal in order to boost it.

• I haven't tried to operate any Wi-Fi device inside of a metal building. If the situation allows, try bringing in a spare standard Wi-Fi router and see how well it behaves. It should give an idea on what to expect with the RE9000.

• Hi. The signal of your main connection may not reach the range extender since the metal build may cause too much signal interference which would lead to intermittent connection.
