“I have 3 of these and the one that is furthest from my main modem and hardwired to my Amazon fire tv has started to show a red light more than blue. The other two remain blue. The tv is still working, but why is this one unit blinking red?”

The node is just at a lower signal strength than the other two. Try moving the middle node around the house a bit to see if this resolves the faint signal at the third node. FireTV and other services are able to be operated at a variety of provider speeds, so you may be only dropping quality of media, rather than losing ability to play altogether.
