Hi, NickT. Each node in the Velop wireless system provides a range of up to 2,000 square feet. The range can vary with the number and placement of nodes in the system. Also, the range specifications are based on performance test results under normal use case conditions. Actual ranges will vary depending on wireless obstructions, operating environments, and building material. You can use this as a Wireless Bridge while still using the Netgear, but some features of the Velop will not be usable. You can also use the Velop as your primary router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the pod is placed between your router and garage, you will find it works. Wifi is reduced by walls of brick, so placement in or near a window where the signal is direct to the garage will help. Otherwise, if your garage is attached, you will need a pod near that point. I have a pod within 20 feet of my garage, which is attached, I’s passing through a brick wall and still gets full signal.
