Can it connect to a netgear CM500 Modem? null

This system will connect to any modem, in this case since your modem is not also a router, it is straight forward. Just set up the first Velop unit and plug it directly into the router yellow port. Probably will need to reboot the modem and the router but it will work. Although I have a different brand modem, the setup is the same.
