Thank you for your question. The Lively Flip 2 is unlocked per nationwide standards, but we cannot control which carriers choose to accept or activate our phones. Lively phones were specifically designed to work on the Lively network which is powered by the nation’s largest and most dependable reliable wireless network. To enjoy exclusive features that are only available on the Lively network, activate with Lively by phone or on the Lively website. Lively has a variety of plans with data so you can choose the one that works best for you.

The phone can only be activated thru the Lively/Great Call service that is supported with Verizon. You can’t even use this with an existing Verizon service either even though it’s supported by Verizon. Somehow it’s its own Lively/Verizon identity... I don’t quite understand why, but it’s definitely it’s own separate service. With that said, it’s still a great monthly plan $money wise if a basic updated flip phone is all you need. The phone itself is a much nicer phone than the Alcatel flip that Verizon carries in the $200.00 range that I checked out before canceling my existing Verizon service and went with the Lively. I did try to activate the Lively thru my existing Verizon plan 1st and it’s not possible. This is how I know. If you’re not after a smartphone this is a much cheaper way to go. I use an iPad for all my computer stuff. Don’t need it with my cell. I hope this answers a few things and helps you out with your decisions. WAG1
