    My 98 year old mom took about 3 weeks to learn how to use the basic functions of this flip phone after her other one broke. I need to make her some notes on making a call, answering the phone, etc. The manual was clear enough for a younger person. I am happy to say that she is getting used to her phone and she likes the red color.

    A phone for the elderly

    I bought this for my 90 year old Father and it was perfect. It's simple, easy to use, large, very loud (Which I needed as his hearing aids aren't always in), and best of all he seems to be able to use it fairly well compared to other phones.

    The new Lively phone was easy to setup and activate. The phone number transfer was completed in one day, so the phone was operation under our existing phone number and receiving calls. The GreatCall service in our area is very good.

    A WONDERFUL EASY PHONE!

    I purchased this phone for a quick cheap fix after my original phone went wacky. Have a replacement phone being shipped, but will take awhile to arrive. Live in the country 30min. from the nearest town. Needed a phone now for emergencies while MTB riding and hiking almost every day along with the normal need of one. This Lively flip was on sale the cheapest I’ve ever seen it for $29.99 at Best Buy. Had checked it out previously for my mother when she dropped/broke her phone. It was on sale at that time for $49.99. The original retail price is $99.99. If you activate online it’s $25 vs. $35 w/in store activation, or phone call w/a representative. I purchased, activated, and picked the cheapest plan at $14.99 monthly and was all set to go for $58.00. Great deal! 300min. + .10cent per text. All I need - don’t normally text at all. For $19.99 a month you get Unlimited talk & text. Plus taxes of course. Anyway, I love this thing. So easy to set up & easy to use. Loud & crystal clear conversation both ways, and the same goes w/speaker phone. Quick easy voicemail retrieval. A very nice looking basic well made sturdy little phone. You can stop and start service with no penalty charge. Stays activated as far as I was told. Will have to double check with that now that I have a phone to call Lively/Great call to confirm how that may actually work. This phone will just be a backup phone for me in the future. Only 1 very minor con... have to press the OK button on the keypad to answer incoming calls...... it’s not all that hard to do. Thanks for listening/reading, WAG

    Ordered a Lively Flip Phone for a friend in hospital because he was having trouble using his phone. It is advertised as easy to use, but whoever designed the software did not know what they were doing. You have to press arrows and OK several times to get the contact and then press 3 more times to make a call. Select Contact -- OK Select Number -- OK Dial Number -- OK Does not answer incoming call when opened. You have to press OK and sometimes twice. His flip phone from previous carrier would answer when opened. It would also call number by selecting contact. The small toggle buttons became hard to use and I thought this phone would be easier. IT'S NOT. Sound is horrible. With speaker phone and volume on max, you still have to hold this phone close to your ear to hear. When he calls me, the sound quality on my end is horrible. It sounds like he is 10 feet away from the phone. It's not my phone, everyone calling sounds fine. GreatCall Company ---------------------------- Second issue is they are ripping off seniors. His previous carrier charged .38 for Federal USF fee and .21 for Regulatory Recover. Great call adds $2.36 for USF and $3.23 for Fed Regulatory Recovery. They pay the same federal fees as the other carriers. I have never seen a carrier charge more than $1 for both of these fees. Plain and simple, this company is not about helping seniors, it's all about getting as much money from seniors has they can legally.

    I actually have NO IDEA about the quality or features of this product. I couldn't activate it because there was no serial number card inside the retail box. I went back to the store and tried to exchange it for another just like it. But I checked the replacement phone while I was still in the store. There was no serial number card in it either. It seems to be a common problem, at least in that store. Best Buy graciously gave me a full refund. I hope they figure it out.

    This is my second phone purchase in 4 months. Purchased for my aging parents who are in a rehab facility. First one developed an issue with my parents being able hear after 3 months of use in a nursing home. With COVID lockdowns in place at the facility, they need to have a cell phone with them for us to contact them. Hopefully this one will last longer. Thought this type of cell phone would be easier for them to use but they are still having issues.

    Love this phone, Have had a few orginal jitterbugs and loved them all, This model is the new one and i love it as the numbers are perfect size for me with my vision. and easy to use... (Still learning a few things on it) perfect size and not all that internet stuff) recommend this for anyone but especially seniors. Thank you Best Buy for carrying these and as I said small enough to fit in your pockets , especially cargo style shorts . Easy flip top to see. Only issue i don't like which is same on many phones, is that the screen goes off when I am still trying to read the fine print stuff. YOu won't be sorry for getting one.

    Purchased for my eldery mom who is blind. Liked the voice command feature for calling which can keep her independent as possible. Set-up is needed to enable that portion and you need to link to your Amazon account. Tech support at Lively was wonderful for set-up. Transferring a former Prepaid phone from another carrier - this took some time - most likely longer as it was a weekend. Will need to pay for activation the Lively or online which was not clearly desceibed at time of purchase in store.

    The phone on a whole is good for just talk and text. They could improve the way text are deleted. you have to delete each reply from one to the other. There ought to be a way to just delete the whole text.

    Great little flip phone

    I bought this for my mom who doesn’t handle technology well. It is a great little phone for someone who doesn’t want a smart phone. She can call and text and Lively has operators available to call a Lyft ride or help with any emergencies. It also has a magnifier, a camera, a flashlight and a calculator. Lots of handy features. And the red phone is really nice looking. The phone is relatively small (but the letters on the screen are not) so I bought a case on a lanyard on Amazon so she can wear it around her neck. But plan to spend some time getting it activated. I struggled a bit with that and spent nearly two hours getting it done. There are people who can help, but only during regular business hours. A great buy on a Best Buy sale.

    Good phone, only complaint is that my mother in law complains she can't hear as well as she'd like. The volume doesn't go up as far as she really needs but she can still hear. Overall it's a great phone and simple to use.

    What they don't tell you on the box

    Bought for my 86yr old mother, last week, she likes the phone but be aware they recycle phone #s so the day after activation she was getting 20 text messages a day ,which cost her 10c for each in coming text. I called and had them change her number and they did credit her the money for the texts.also don't forget to figure in the taxes and fees each month, her 14.99 plan is actually 23.99 and don't forget the activation fee they don't tell you about! If you activate it your self on line it's $25 if you have them do it for you it's $35 that rubs me the wrong way but it is what it is..

    I'm a slow learner, but it's a lot better than the consumer cellular phone. I can call Canada and the main thing to remember is the OK button. I still dont feel comfortable with the sound adjustments on the side. They could have left them off and just adjust it from the keyboard.

    i bought this ph for my husband he needed one that was easy to use & didn't have lots of complicated features. I had one years ago loved it because it was easy to use. He has hearing problems but this ph he is able to hear clearly on it. The large numbers & view of features is also helpful for him. the guy who helped me at Best buy was helpful tried setting up the activation for me spent many minutes but the site was not allowing him to complete the task. I came home was able to set it up easily. I wanted a red one none available so he set one aside from the next shipment. Very thoughtful of him.

    NOT JUST FOR THE OLD FOLKS !

    Purchased for my Mother. Finally a phone that caters to the elderly. Lively customer service is just absolutely awesome. If you purchase a phone from Best Buy it is much easier to set the phone if you go directly through Lively. If you go through Lively when setting up the phone they will walk you through everything and you are also able to “link” the phone to a smartphone so if the emergency service is ever utilized you will get notification. Also the Lively service has gps on the phones so your elderly person can always receive help or assistance if needed when traveling or even just mowing their yard or working in the garden. These phones are not just for the elderly. If you have someone that has medical conditions or are maybe hindered because lack of mobility.
